Advanced Technologies for Aerospace and Security

Italy’s aerospace sector has been catapulted into the world’s top-10 thanks to advanced technologies in space exploration and security.

The industry provides equipment, components, observation satellites and sensors for ambitious international projects such as the NASA missions Artemis and Mars Sample Return.

The Italian Space Agency’s PRISMA satellite is one of the most high-tech spacecrafts of its kind. Italy is also behind ultra-modern aerodynamic technology for aircrafts such as helicopters.

In 1930 Corradino D’Ascanio invented the first modern helicopter and today the majority of the world’s helicopters are built in the region of Lombardy. In addition, Italy’s growing technical expertise can be demonstrated in its cybersecurity sector, which is expanding at a rate of 300% and has a value of 1.7 billion euros.
